Events

The current opera event Opera Signup Page is shaping up nicely. Payment ($20 cash or check) is due to Michael Hines on Tuesday, November 4th. Payments can be placed in a sealed envelope WITH YOUR NAME ON IT and can be slipped under the door of LS 4677 or placed in Michael's folder in the grad folders on the 3rd floor of the Watson building.

We will take an OCCT bus to the event, please meet at 7PM on Saturday in the Watson Commons to make sure we're all accounted for.

Some new events have also been suggested:

  1. Kopernik Observatory http://www.kopernik.org/ for some future Friday night stargazing (weather permitting)
  2. Movie night -the GSO already has something that might be of interest, the International Film Series http://gso-binghamton.org/events/filmseries-calendar.jpg
  3. Ice skating

New E-Board Member

We would like to welcome Yi Xu to the e-board as our new treasurer!

Other Business

Signing of the coffee machine thank-you letter.

Find out if/when students who do not have lab space can access the coffee machine and future items in the G-lab areas

November 3rd Budget Meeting

Introduced Yi Xu to the e-board, went over some responsibilities of the group.

Purchase Orders

Need to contact the GSO treasurer to obtain a list of businesses who have invoice accounts with the GSO that we can use instead of being reimbursed.

Purchase vouchers and tax exempt forms are located in the GSO office. Try to group similar items (items from the same business) on vouchers and use separate vouchers for different vendors. Starting the voucher numbers at 100 this semester was suggested, and increment another 100 every semester for ease of maintaining our records.

Office Space

We could use a centralized location to store all of the hard-copy records of the GSOCS instead of everyone keeping whatever they do in their own records. This would also make it easier for signatures to be collected on various forms.

SUNY Social Justice Sponsorship

The issue of sponsoring the SUNY Social Justice Conference http://sunysocialjustice.org/ needs to be put to a general vote before a decision can be reached. Voting policies are forthcoming, as is a resolution to this sponsorship question.
